Being submissive to your husband can have a lot of benefits for your marriage. It can make you feel more cherished, and it can improve communication between you and your spouse.
In this blog post, we will explore what it means to be submissive to your husband, and we will provide some tips on how wives can healthily submit to their husbands. If you are looking for ways to improve your marriage, a submission may be the answer!
What submission in marriage looks like
When it comes to submission in marriage, it looks like one spouse voluntarily yields to the leadership of the other. This doesn’t mean that the submissive spouse is a doormat or has no say in decisions; rather, it means that they trust their husband or wife to lead the family and make wise decisions.
Husbands should not treat their wives like they are not a major part of the body of the home. Husbands should act like Jesus did as the head of the church and the church was treated like it did not have spots or wrinkles or other blemish.
As the head of the church Jesus, lead the church in the ways of his father and humbly ensured others were held accountable for these ways.
There are many benefits to this kind of wife submission. First, it allows each spouse to focus on their strengths and play to them. The leader can take charge and make things happen, the same way the follower can provide support and stability. This division of labor can help a marriage be more successful overall.
Another benefit is that it can help prevent arguments and conflict. If each spouse knows their role and sticks to it, there’s less room for disagreement. And even when disagreements do come up, they’re more likely to be resolved quickly and peacefully if there’s already a foundation of trust and respect in place.
Of course, submission in marriage doesn’t work for everyone. The Holy Spirit in your own body can have a wife submit to her husband in her own way. And that’s perfectly okay! There’s no one right way to have a happy and successful marriage.
Wives should submit and that will make a husband and wife into one flesh union which is still a profound mystery. Christ loved the church even as it persecuted him in the new testament. As wives should submit to their husbands even in their worst state.
The benefits of submission for wives
When a wife submits to her husband, it creates a dynamic of mutual respect and understanding. It allows the couple to work together as a team, with each person playing an active role in decision-making. This can lead to a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship overall.
Another benefit of submission is that it allows the couple to work together as a team. Husbands and wives who submit to one another can share the load in terms of decision-making and domestic responsibilities.
This can lead to a more balanced and satisfying relationship. Christ and the church have a unique relationship because as the savior he could have dictated to the church. Being the savior meant he has higher authority and the idea that the authority could be used to make him more holy or above the word of God and did not was simply untrue. The Greek word translated “submit,” hupotasso , is the continuing form of the verb.
This means that submitting to God, the government, a pastor, or a husband is not a one-time act.
Finally, submission can lead to a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship overall. When both husband and wife feel respected and valued, they are more likely to be happy in the relationship. This can create a strong foundation for a lasting and loving partnership.
How to submit to your husband in a healthy way
A woman’s biblical submission to her husband should be a healthy expression of her love for him, and an acknowledgment of his leadership in the relationship. Here are some tips on how to submit to your husband healthily:
1. Communicate openly and honestly with your husband about your thoughts and feelings. Let him know what makes you happy and what frustrates you. This will help him to understand your needs better and will make it easier for him to meet them.
2. Be willing to compromise when necessary. There will be times when you will need to yield to your husband’s wishes to maintain peace and harmony in the relationship.
However, this does not mean that you should always give in to everything he wants – learns to communicate assertively so that you can both get what you need out of the relationship.
3. Respect your husband’s opinions and decisions, even if you don’t always agree with them. It is important to show your husband that you trust his judgment and that you are confident in his abilities. This will give him the security he needs to lead confidently.
4. Seek your husband’s advice and counsel on important decisions affecting both of you. This shows that you value his input and that you are willing to work together as a team.
5. Pray for your husband regularly, asking God to bless him and give him wisdom in all areas of his life. This act of submission will help to strengthen your marriage spiritually, as well as emotionally and mentally.
Signs that you may need to submit more in your marriage
When it comes to marriage, there are a lot of things that can go wrong. If you're not careful, your marriage can quickly become a mess. Here are some signs that you may need to submit more in your marriage:
1. You're Always Fighting
If you find yourself constantly arguing with your spouse, it's a sign that something is wrong. If you're constantly fighting, it means that you're not effectively communicating with each other. The wives may refuse to believe their husband is the head and refuse to submit to her husband.
2. You're Not Spending Time Together
It's important to spend time together as a couple. If you're not spending time together, it can be a sign that you're growing apart. Make sure to schedule date nights or weekend getaways so you can reconnect with each other.
3. You're Not Intimate Anymore
Physical intimacy is an important part of marriage. If you're not being intimate with your spouse, it can be a sign that there's a problem. Maybe you're feeling disconnected from each other or there's something else going on. Either way, it's important to talk about this issue so you can resolve it.
4. You Don't Communicate Well
If you're not communicating well with your spouse, it can lead to all sorts of problems. Maybe you don't feel like you're being heard or understood. Or maybe things are going on that you're not comfortable talking about. Either way, poor communication can be detrimental to your marriage.
5. You Have Different Priorities
If your priorities are different from your spouse's, it can cause problems in your marriage. Maybe one of you wants to focus on their career while the other wants to start a family. Or maybe one of you values alone time while the other craves social interaction. Whatever the case may be, it's important to find common ground so you can both be happy in your marriage.
Church Submits to points of the spiritual significance of marriage
We find unity both through the threefold bonds in the Trinity and through the one-flesh partnership between husband and wife. Father and Son are equal in that they represent God. Moreover, they are linked by some kind of hierarchy. Jesus also said that the father is greater than I (John 13:18).
Apostle Paul compares marriage and communion in Christ. There is no master/servicer relationship, but they are a lover. The Lord of the Church voluntarily sacrificed his life for his bride's life. In a family structure when wives submit to their husbands like the church submits to Christ, to willingly submit to their husbands shows the children proper alignment.
The wife submits to their husbands and as the wives submit to their husbands the children join in to make the family structure. The wife's submission displays that wife loves her husband and the wife believes in the construct of marriage.
The husband that loves Jesus shows a clear example of how Christ loved. Especially, how Christ loved the church and cherished it.
What submission in marriage is not allowed?
First, I think submission in marriage is not resistance, servants or inferiority, docile, or degrading. Submission in marriage carries no sign of weakness. This involves strong character traits. The submission to marriage symbolizes the respect of an individual for her husband.
This attitude aims to encourage her husband to be happy and peaceful in their marriage and in the future. If you submit to other wives husband's lead and not your own husband's leadership you will struggle in marriage.
Listening to decisions the husband makes does not mean you are weak and cannot read how a husband loves. Problems are inevitable; during married life, the spouse will have to deal with misunderstandings.
Wife Submits and their own husbands have equal worth in God's word
Using the term “submissions” is often considered stifling because it is perceived as a notion of women as being inferior to males. Ephesians 4:5 – 5 was written to help promote marriage unity. In light of this, Paul's instruction to women cannot be separate from his advice to men and his overarching advice for both.
In a particular example, Christ speaks with a Samaritan woman (John 4), something which for Jews should never be considered taboo. Submit to their own husbands first because they will receive their husband's love and begin fighting against what the world tells husbands which is that wives control their husbands. Head of the wife does not mean the owner of the wife.
The Husband's Appreciation of Biblical Submission
In fact, when a man shows receptive to love in marriage his daughter will be very happy with him. He feels appreciation for her because he trusts her. In other words, his mood is happy. He can trust her with the greatest fears and hopes since he doesn't fear that he will attack him. He can relax and know that she can help him fix any mistakes he made in the past. The husband can rest assured she will take care to reduce its consequences instead of simply making the case and rejecting his point or saying anything.
It is a problem if husbands have to understand Biblical marriage. This is a sensitive matter, especially when it is often misinterpreted in terms of sexism or obedience. Add in Western cultures – a life centered on me – and the conflicts you describe are real inside as well as externally. However, an examination of the scriptures gives revealing details about marriage: the relationships reflect the Love between Christ and The Church. Biblical submission and the world's view of the word submission are polar opposites. Christian marriage and a radiant church home couple together and create a healthy marriage for generations. The church benefits as wives use their own bodies to bring life into the world.
As man submits to God's Word, his biblical submission makes him the head of the home and has a trickle-down effect. As the head of the home that God chose, the wives show immense strength by submitting. So also wives, your position cannot be devalued in this process. When a man surrenders in faith leads his wife in his servant's heart, and nurtures his talents she can confidently accept his hand and trust in his cover. Obviously, it's important.
