Marriage Prayers

Pray for God’s grace to be upon your marriage, and for His protection to be over it. Remember your wedding day and the spiritual intimacy you shared, and ask God to help you stand firm in your marriage despite human weaknesses. Finally, ask God to challenge you and your spouse to work hand in hand, and to not be self-seeking.

Make sure that you have prayers for husband and wife so that you are covering the marriage in prayer. By praying together, we invite God to be at the center of our relationship and unite us as one. We can pray for specific areas of growth, forgiveness, and gratitude within our marriage.

Remember that no matter what challenges or struggles may arise in your marriage, God is always there to guide and support you. Keep praying for your marriage, trusting in God's plan, and never giving up on the beautiful gift of love that He has given us. Let your prayers be filled with faith, hope, and love, knowing that through Him all things are possible.

There are about 20 things to discuss before marriage so you can get on the same page with your future spouse. When you start married life it is NOT MEANT TO BE JUST A JOB where you are upset with how much alone time you will miss in this future life. Family life is about the realization that your family members are part of a daily religious event, whether they life it or not.

It is completely different than any other significant religious event because the basic idea of any married life and family life is the how we live with generational curses and generational blessings. Here are 10 aspects of marriage you should consider before gaining a future spouse to stay on the same page:

  1. How many kids do they want or do not want?
    - Try to remove thoughts of your dream car, in-laws, each of your own childhoods, or other's blended family members. A healthy relationship will spend time evaluating what works best for you two.

  2. Do we have the same political views?
    - Good time for a bit tricky conversation about a conflict resolution plan. A love language and being loving to the most important person go out the window with politics.

  3. How we handle day-to-day spending
    - Speak about the finances frankly and this can be a huge discussion this can be a place where long standing tradition (husband and wife roles) become different deal breakers because of partner's expectations.

  4. Will we need a separate bank account to handle other financial obligations and separate bank accounts to handle future planning?
-When you get married with family situations full of false expectations of a day life where you holiday dealing for your own celebrations with a long bike ride at your dream house. If you are a father, expect to response personally as you watch that dream break in a shared bank account over a few years of reality spending.

  5. Opinions on wedding planning - Who does what? Do I have to be at every tasting, rehearsal, etc..

  6. Do you have your own dream and if so, what does it look like?
-Is it a huge deal when I work unpredictable hours keep this established early so it is not a deal breaker later. Communication styles are paramount here because understanding what your partner deals with because of your dream is important. When you get married the negative things and positive things of both dreams should be communicated.

  7. Simple family obligations change in the most successful marriage, What happens then?

  8. Talk frankly about old and new family traditions, answers will surprise you.

  9. Situational conversations like what we do on an action-packed camping trip or maternity or paternity leave, is as important as an honest conversation about your sex life or an extended family dream holiday home.

  10. Putting your partner before marriage involves being totally honest, totally loyal, or totally fun - having a conversation about which of the three is them is important.

The idea is to have difficult conversations about how you will be splitting bills, and living out your belief systems, before your wedding day.

It is worth discussing how you will handle disagreements, amplify your great discussions about personal goals, discover progressive financial goals, and learn about individual sexual needs before getting married. Your biggest fear is all these things being questions to ask to keep you on the right foot.

These important topics have the best chance of being answered before you recite "I do". These should not be questions to ask that turn into more questions in the long run that find ways to ruin space for more important things.

Marriage is a big step and these are things to discuss, like when you want kids, before you begin your life together. It is important to discuss the best way to use conflict resolution in a healthy relationship before the conflict begins. Ask your partner about spending time in pre-martial counseling to establish a strong common ground in a marriage discussion. Remember to ask before marriage.

Praying for Marriage: What Does the Bible Say?

20 things to discuss before marriage

Praying for marriage is a powerful way to bring glory to God and to honor the marriage covenant. In the Bible, Jesus Christ teaches us to pray to our Heavenly Father for help in all aspects of our lives, including our marriages. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus says, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” This prayer is a reminder that we can turn to our Lord Jesus Christ for help in our marriages.

We can also look to the example of Christ and his love for the church. In Ephesians 5:25-33, Paul writes, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.

He who loves his wife loves himself.” This passage reminds us that we should love our spouses in the same way that Christ loves us—with patience, kindness, and understanding. We can pray to our Lord Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father for help in our marriages, asking for strength to love our spouses in the same way that Christ loved us.

We have to stay in prayer for kingdom marriage and make sure that we have marriage prayers for couples especially if they are seeking marriage restoration under our gracious God in Jesus' mighty name. I always encourage my dear brothers in Christ to pray over their wedding vows and holy matrimony and not wait until they need a restored marriage to start prayers over marriage. This is to build a stronger bond over your entire family with the almighty God. You can be prayer warriors with a prayer life that is full of healing a broken relationship before it is broken.

Common Marriage Prayers in the Bible Verses

Marriage prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for your help and guidance in our marriage. We thank you for all your wonderful qualities and for the love that we share. Help us to love each other the same way that Christ loved us and to honor our own bodies. In Lord Christ Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.

Lord Jesus,

We ask that you forgive us for our human weaknesses and give us the strength to stand firm in our marriage. We ask for your protection and blessing on our marriage, that it may bring glory to your name. Dear God, we ask for your wisdom and guidance as we challenge each other hand in hand, to be self-seeking and to love each other unconditionally. We thank you for your generous grace and mercy, and we ask that you bless our marriage with spiritual intimacy.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Praying for marriage is a powerful way to bring glory to God and to seek His wisdom and protection. In the Bible, there are many marriage prayers that can be used to ask for God's help and guidance. One of the most common biblical marriage and prayers is found in Ephesians 5:22-33, where Paul encourages husbands and wives to love each other in the same way that Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.

He also encourages husbands to love their wives as their own bodies, and wives to respect their husbands in the same way. Another common marriage prayer is found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, where Paul encourages couples to love each other with all their wonderful qualities. He reminds us that love is patient and kind, and that it does not envy or boast. He also reminds us that love is not easily angered, and that it always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. This prayer is a beautiful reminder of the marriage covenant that God has established between a husband and wife.

Finally, a third common marriage prayer is found in Matthew 19:3-6, where Jesus reminds us that God has blessed marriage and that it is a holy union. He encourages couples to remain faithful to each other and to stand firm in their commitment to one another. This prayer is especially helpful for couples who are struggling in their marriage or who are facing difficult times.

These three common marriage prayers are a powerful reminder of God's love and grace for couples. They can be used to ask for God's help and guidance in times of need and to bring glory to His name. May we all pray for our marriages in the name of Jesus Christ, and may God bless us with His grace and mercy.

How to Pray for Your Marriage

Receiving a Wedding blessing

Praying for your marriage is a powerful way to bring glory to God and to strengthen your relationship with your spouse. When you pray for your marriage, you are asking Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit to help you and your spouse in your marriage covenant.

You can start by saying, “Dear Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit, we come to you today asking for your help in our marriage.” When you pray for your marriage, you are asking God to help you and your spouse love each other the same way that Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. You can ask God to help you and your spouse love each other with all their wonderful qualities, and to help you both love and respect your own bodies.

You can also ask God to help you and your spouse be patient with each other, and to forgive each other just as the Lord forgave us. God blesses marriages, and when life gets tough and you are barely communicating, you can ask God to give you the wisdom to work through it.

The Blessing of a Wedding Day

Praying for other's families

On a wedding day, couples are blessed with the opportunity to pray for their marriage. As they stand before Jesus Christ, their Heavenly Father, and the radiant church, they can ask for the Lord's help in their marriage. They can pray a scripture prayer for marriage to the Lord Jesus Christ to help them love each other in the same way that He loved us, and to use their own bodies to bring glory to Him. They can ask for wisdom from their Father God to help them understand all their wonderful qualities and to be patient with each other.

They can ask for the Lord's mercy and forgiveness when they make mistakes in any marriage prayer, and for His protection and blessing on their marriage. The wedding day is a reminder of the spiritual intimacy that comes with marriage, and of the human weaknesses that can challenge it. With God's word as their guide, couples can stand firm against self-seeking and instead work hand in hand to bring glory to God.

They can ask for His generous grace to help them through the hard times, and for His blessing to bring them closer together. On their wedding day, couples can pray for a marriage that will bring glory to God and stand the test of time.We always ask in a marriage prayer about our own body as He will give us the protection and strength we are asking for.

As we come to the conclusion of our journey together, let us remember to pray for marriage. We ask our Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit to help us in our marriage covenant. We thank our Dear God for all their wonderful qualities and ask for His protection and blessing on our marriage. We pray that our marriage will bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ and that we will be able to stand firm in His wisdom and grace. We ask for His help to overcome our human weaknesses and to challenge us to stand hand in hand, not self-seeking.

We pray that our marriage will be a radiant church, that our wives will love their own husbands in the same way that Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. We thank our generous God for His mercy and forgiveness and ask Him to bless us on our wedding day and beyond. We pray for spiritual intimacy and for protection from anything that could harm our marriage. We thank God for His holy word and ask Him to give us the strength to live out our marriage in the same way that He has commanded us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Praying for Marriage is an important part of Any Relationship

Praying for marriage

By taking time out of our day to pray for our partner and our marriage, we can be sure that we are investing in the health and longevity of the relationship.

In turn, prayer can open up a direct line between us and God, allowing us to communicate with Him on a deeper level through our conversations with Him. As we pray for marriages, we can ask God to help us in difficult times and show us His will as we grow together in love and commitment.

Here are some key scriptures you can use when praying for marriage:

  • 1 Peter 3:7 “Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honour to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life.”

  • Genesis 2:24 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

  • Proverbs 5:18 “Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth.”

  • Matthew 19:4-6 “And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

  • Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

  • Colossians 3:19 “Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.”

  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

By praying these scriptures and applying these principles to our own marriages, we can be sure that our relationships are rooted in God’s love and grace. As you pray for your marriage, ask God to continue to bless it and give it strength, so that you may live a life of joy and peace together.

More Scriptures to Pray for Marriage

Pray For Marriage

Praying for your marriage is an incredibly powerful way to bring God into the mix and ask for His guidance and help. Prayers can range from simple one-sentence prayers to more complex multi-sentence ones, but one thing remains constant: Scripture should be included in any prayer that you offer up.

Scripture helps us focus our hearts on God and His will for our lives, which makes it the ideal choice when praying for something as important as marriage. To help you get started, here are some of the most common scriptures to use when praying for your marriage:

  • “Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry come unto Thee” (Psalm 102:1 KJV).

  • “The Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer” (Psalm 31:23 KJV).

  • “Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:2-3 KJV).

  • “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6 KJV).

  • “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud” (1 Corinthians 13:4 NIV).

  • “Let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9 KJV).

  • “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5 KJV).

  • “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20 KJV).

  • “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8 NIV).

We pray for Your protection over our marriage blessing our relationship - may it always remain strong and healthy despite the obstacles that come our way. Let us continually strive to honor each other and our vows, and to always put You at the center of our marriage.

We pray that You would continue to be our guide in this new season of marriage heavenly father and life, and that You will help us make wise decisions that honor You and bless us both.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Father God:

We thank You for blessing us with a union of two separate yet equal individuals. Please guide us in our marriage and help us to remember that it is not just a relationship between two people, but a gift from You.

Help us to be humble and to always think of the other first, especially when we disagree. May our marriage be one of trust and faithfulness so that we can draw strength from each other’s support.

We pray for Your grace and mercy to be upon us as we journey through life together, and that You will continue to bring joy into our lives, no matter the challenges we may face. We know that you are a merciful Father and we will always pray for our marriage lord so that we can face each challenge hand in hand as we let Christ roll and patiently endure testing and patiently endure test as Christ dwell in our deepest desire for only you and to win favor and laughter fill our lives as we patiently endure tests. We ask for Bible verses for our prayer in marriage and we know Christ's love as the church submits and hurt tear us down because the evil one hates our paths straight and only wants us quickly broken. We stand side by side knowing that we can resist temptations and like Christ rule throughout our marriage.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

No matter what kind of prayer you pray, make sure to always include scriptures. You can even use scriptures as the basis for a whole prayer. The idea for prayers for husband and wife is to include God's word about marriage in the prayer.

Using scriptures in prayers for marriage helps us to set our heart on the Lord so that we can find strength and hope even when times are tough. Praying for your marriage with scripture will help you to stay rooted in God’s love and grace, and bless the relationship He has given you.

For example, if you’re praying for your marriage to stay strong and loving, you could start off by saying “God, I ask that Your love will continue to fill our hearts and our home. Help us to abide by Your commandments to love one another and forgive each other.” You could then add a few relevant scriptures to back up your prayer, such as “Love is patient, love is kind” (1 Corinthians 13:4) or “Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13).

Finally, it is important to remember that prayer is a powerful tool, and God hears our prayers and answers them in His own way. We should always trust that He knows what is best for us, even when the answer to our prayer isn’t what we expect. So keep praying for your broken marriage together, trusting that God will bring healing and renewal into your relationship.

When praying for your husband or wife, it’s also important to focus on specific aspects of their character. Pray that God will guide and direct them in the decisions they make, help them to be strong in times of weakness, and give them hope during difficult times. Include scriptures such as “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5 KJV) or “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).

No matter what your prayer looks like, it should always end with a reminder of the source of our hope and strength: Jesus Christ. Pray that He will bless your marriage in ways that you cannot even imagine, so that you can live a life filled with joy, faithfulness, and love.

Remember: God has promised to be with us when we seek Him. Don’t be afraid to use scriptures to pray for marriage in your prayers for husband and wife. He will honor your faithfulness and provide for you in ways that only He can. Amen.

Our blog is a place where we share our personal experiences, struggles, and breakthroughs in our relationship with God. We believe that these stories can help inspire and encourage others who are also on their journey of faith. In this post, we want to delve into the topic of spiritual warfare and how it manifests itself in our daily lives.

Spiritual warfare is a term used to describe the battle between good and evil, where supernatural forces are at play. It may sound like something out of a fantasy novel, but for many people, spiritual warfare is a very real and ongoing struggle.

The concept of spiritual warfare might seem unfamiliar or daunting to some. However, Christians must grasp its significance and impact. Ephesians 6:12 guides us with a powerful message, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."

This scripture eloquently highlights that as believers, we find ourselves in an unseen spiritual conflict. It's a battle that transcends the physical realm, affecting every individual universally.

In addition to sharing our own experiences, we also provide helpful tips and advice on how to deepen your connection with God. From understanding the Bible to cultivating an effective prayer life, we cover a wide range of topics that are essential to growing in your faith.

But our blog is not just about personal growth. We also believe in the power of community and coming together to serve others. That's why we share information about various causes and organizations that align with our beliefs and mission as Christians.

Now, Mary teaches concepts about spiritual breakthroughs from the knowledge she gained in a women's bible study. Mary believes that spiritual breakthroughs are an essential part of one's faith journey. She defines it as a significant shift in one's perspective, understanding, and relationship with God. These breakthroughs can come in various forms, such as realizing a new truth from scripture, experiencing deep emotional healing, or powerfully encountering God. Spiritual breakthroughs are unique to each individual and can happen at any point in their faith journey.

Mary also emphasizes the importance of community in experiencing spiritual breakthroughs. She believes that God created us for relationships, and we need others to help us grow in our faith.

They talk about the need for guidance to keep praying for your marriage. Especially, if you are struggling with demonic attacks, need specific wisdom from the Holy Spirit, or contemplating something much more divisive you need to pray for your marriage.

If you are looking for a breakthrough from God and the direction of the Holy Spirit, then, this is the blog for you.
