Our Vision To Help Ministries and Christians In Five Fold Ministry Gifts

Key Takeaways:

  • The fivefold ministry gifts play an essential role in building up the body of Christ for the advancement of God's Kingdom.

  • Each role in the fivefold ministry has a specific gift and function, working together to ensure the church thrives and grows.

  • The concept of the 5 fold ministry originated in the first-century church and is still relevant and necessary in the modern church.

  • Identifying and nurturing these gifts within the congregation is crucial for the edification of the church and its mission.

The Foundation and Framework

At the outset, the Five Fold Ministry is not just a historical footnote; it is a living, breathing mechanism designed by God. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are not mere titles or positions but gifts from Jesus Christ to His church. These roles, when embraced and activated within the church, have the power to transform individuals and communities, guiding them toward spiritual maturity and a deeper relationship with God. They all come together to make a 5 fold ministry and are not church government but have their own five-fold gifts to prepare God's people.

The five-fold ministry gifts remain as relevant today as they were in the early church of the first century. Originating from the heart of God, these precious gifts were delivered to humans by none other than Jesus Christ himself, the high priest of our faith. These gifts are not just for individual edification but were designed to equip God's people, prepare them for service, and ultimately, to build the body of Christ. Five fold ministers are not the chief cornerstone but they are an integral piece.

The New Testament, written under the illumination of the Holy Spirit, records the roles and the importance of these five-fold ministry gifts. Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher: these gifts have distinct functions but they work harmoniously to reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of Christ. Just as fingers on a hand, each serves unique purposes in the body of Christ, but all are joined together to make the body work.

This is not about what a person learned in bible college for church government or just thorough head knowledge of the Old Testament and New Testament. It is about the ability to work with the Holy Spirit and others in fellowship and devotion to Jesus Christ.

Exploring the Five Ministry Gifts

As Christ is the high priest and the chief cornerstone of the Church, these fivefold ministers are called to serve and prepare God's people for works of service. The apostle, like the index finger, points the way, guiding the Church based on God's word.

The prophets, the middle finger, are the ones who hear from God, bringing edification, comfort, and challenge to the Church body. Next, we have the evangelists, or the ring finger, symbolic of commitment and outreach, whose main role is to increase the Church's presence and influence in the world for God's kingdom.

Apostles

The architects of the faith, apostles lay the foundations of churches, ensuring that the teachings of Christ are the cornerstones upon which everything is built. Their vision extends beyond the four walls of the church, reaching out to the unreached, and making disciples of all nations. The Apostle Paul speaks of all the gifts that the church operates in.

Prophets

Prophets are the voice of God amid His people, bringing revelation, correction, and encouragement. They remind us of God’s promises and warn us of the consequences of our actions, always pointing us back to the path of righteousness. Some call you a heart revealer because your message is not dry intellectualism. You are focused on healing every individual part of one's heart through speaking to one's heart.

Evangelists

With a zeal that can ignite the coldest heart, evangelists take the message of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. They are the heralds of good news, bringing hope to the hopeless and light to those in darkness. You want to discover the idea of family in new people. You are to show the miraculous signs and wonders of God's ministry gifts. Telling God gave gifts to us to set free the others in bondage is your job.

Pastors

Shepherds of God’s flock and pastors care for the spiritual well-being of their community. They guide, nurture, and protect, ensuring that each member grows in their faith and experiences the love of Christ tangibly.

The pastors, often seen as the third finger, anchor the Church with their nurturing shepherding hearts, guarding the flock from the dangers of false teachings.

In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, the Five Fold Ministry serves as a beacon of unity, bringing together various spiritual gifts under the loving governance of the church leadership. The goal? To reach unity in faith and knowledge, transforming the body of Christ into the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Join us in celebrating and cultivating these unique ministry roles, breathing life into God's heart and His ministry.

Teachers

Teachers build the foundation of faith through the diligent study and exposition of God’s Word. They equip the saints with knowledge and understanding, enabling them to discern truth from deception. Lastly, the teachers symbolized as the little finger, illuminate God's word, imparting knowledge and spiritual gifts to equip people for their own unique ministry functions.

Your goal is that the community remain faithful to the gospel message to draw believers toward a biblical example. You teach others to discern God's voice from a personal response in others. You are not focused on rapid expansion or missional aspects. Your focus is to rid people of the unhealthy dependence on others for a message from the Lord God.

The 5 Types of Prophetic Gifts

There are more than 5 types of Prophetic gifts and Jesus Christ wanted people to know that prophetic ministry is not just about the pastors and teachers.

What is the five fold ministry and how does it work with spiritual gifts? God created a vision of equipping believers with a deep understanding of any one spiritual gift, the old covenant was about guidelines or rules. This vision is about relationships through fellowship. How does that translate to new churches with new believers? Identifying your gifts first:

  1. Word of Wisdom: A supernatural revelation of the divine will and purpose of God, providing clear guidance and solutions in complex situations.

  2. Word of Knowledge: The ability to know in detail the plans or purposes of God or insights into someone’s life, that could only be revealed by the Holy Spirit.

  3. Gift of Prophecy: A divinely inspired message that edifies, exhorts, and comforts, bringing clarity and direction to the church.

  4. Distinguishing between Spirits: The insight to discern the spirit behind actions or events, whether they originate from God, human intent, or demonic forces.

  5. Tongues and Interpretation: The ability to speak and interpret languages not known to the speaker but understood by others or requiring interpretation for edification.

Using your prophetic gift is about knowledge of prophetic word or prophetic prayer in the same spirit. A prophetic calling is a deep desire to share about their relationship with God. They are a gifted person with maybe two gifts of extraordinary power. One is a prophetic utterance from the Holy Spirit which is a subtle nudge from the Holy Spirit to do something or use other gifts. Prophecies with many words about miracles in others' lives that will happen at a later date are common. The manifestation of visions as we pray with a sense to encourage most people we meet is the definition of giving a prophetic word.

The Bible reveals through this verse 1 Corinthians 14:2-4 New International Version: "For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church." This is one example of how the gift of prophecy should be used by a prophet then or a prophet today. Understanding the Five-Fold Ministry Gifts Compared To Spiritual Gifts

Learning about five fold gifts in God's word

This type of ministry isn't just a random collection of church-related terms, it's a powerful demonstration of how God's gifts manifest in the church body. Often mentioned in Christian circles, this concept includes apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, all working together to prepare and equip God's people for works of service.

These fivefold ministry gifts, bestowed upon individuals by the Holy Spirit, play an essential role in building up the body of Christ for the advancement of God's Kingdom.

It's through activating and acknowledging the fivefold ministry gifts that the church can operate as the early church did under the apostolic leadership of the twelve apostles and the guidance of the Apostle Paul. Five fold ministries are essential for the church to effectively influence and impact the world, just as the first-century church influenced the Roman Empire and the Gentile world.

The difference between five fold ministry and spiritual gifts is in the definition of a prophetic ministry. The word apostle means "messenger" or "one sent forth," while prophet means "to speak forth" or "inspired speaker."

These definitions are in contrast to the spiritual gifts of prophecy and tongues, which have different functions within the church. The five fold ministry is a vital component of the body of Christ, providing leadership, guidance, and activation for all believers to walk in their unique spiritual gifts. A New Testament church age is not the focus, the focus is the special gift of the Holy Ghost. Having people, especially men, with a mature manhood with certain gifts like the first apostles, prophets, and empowering women as well.

Today, more than ever, the church is witnessing a resurgence of the benefits of this type of ministry. It serves not as a hierarchy but as a partnership in the gospel, fostering unity, maturity, and growth. Successful implementations of these gifts have revitalized churches, making them beacons of hope in their communities.

Resting on the foundation of God's Word, both the Old and New Testament, we can confidently continue to explore and apply these gifts in our ministry works. As we embrace the fivefold ministry gifts, we open up a channel for the Holy Spirit to operate in His full measure.

So let's embrace these gifts, for they are God's provisions for His church to thrive, to set people free, and to extend the outreach ministry, reflecting the love of Christ Jesus in every corner of the world.

The Significance of Each Role in the Fold Ministry

Celebrating the birth of five fold ministries that have more than one evangelist pastor and teacher

Each player in the five-fold ministry gifts has a crucial role and specific gifting. Apostles, often likened to the 'thumb' of the hand, provide a unique function that enables the other ministry functions. They touch all the other fingers which is why a false prophet is so dangerous. Apostles are literally commissioned messengers carrying out the sender's mission on the sender's authority.

Prophets, considered the 'index finger', point the way towards God's will. Evangelists, symbolized by the 'middle finger', reach out beyond the church's walls to spread the Word to all corners of the world - the longest finger representing the farthest reach.

The Greek word for Old Testament is 'Evangelion', which means good news or gospel, prophets should not speak on the five ministries of Jesus Christ if they do not know God's word. This is the soul healer in the biblical blueprint of how the five gifts are accurately represented.

Pastors, represented by the 'ring finger', are symbolic of commitment and care, while teachers, the 'little finger', provide stability and grounding in God's Word. These ministries, when they operate together, ensure that the local church thrives and grows. This is the story teller for the whole body of Christ and the light giver for new believers. They must have the characteristics of a mature man without deceitful scheming.

Pastors guard the local body of Christ Jesus (congregation), what happens in the church today can very well be what we think of Christ today. Pastors' teaching is tons of unseen work because their platform is not the same as apostles and prophets. They must be good shepherd of their flock to watch the church grow as one of the joint supplies with other parts of the whole body.

The entire church from ministry offices to every person has a different spiritual gift for their own life. The process is proper working order when someone using IVP bible background commentary on any Jesus tradition taught by Jewish teachers in the Old and New Testaments is as smooth as being offered biblical instruction on Pentecostal theology.

Ephesians 4:11-15 NASB

"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into **Him who is the head, even Christ."

The Five Fold Ministry in Early Church History

The concept of the fivefold ministry gifts is as old as the church itself, originating in the first-century church under the leadership of the Apostle Paul and the twelve apostles. It was a model upon which the early church was established amidst the Roman Empire in the New Testament.

The presence and exercise of these gifts played a key role in spreading the gospel to both the Jewish and Gentile world, causing the church to flourish even under intense persecution.

In modern Christian circles, the concept of the fivefold ministry continues to guide church leaders in understanding how God's ministry should operate. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are still necessary in the local church. They offer a dynamic, powerful approach to church leadership, shattering the status quo and pushing the church body toward the fullness of God's Kingdom.

The Relevance of the Five Fold Ministry Today

The gift of prophecy comes from the same spirit that leaders learn scripture from, the bible reveals that a prophetic word of knowledge comes from those who began seeking the word first.

Today, the fivefold ministry is as relevant as ever. These gifts help to equip people for Christian ministry, foster unity, and build up the church to reach the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

By understanding and embracing these gifts, modern church leaders can cultivate a vibrant community that mirrors the faith and fervor of the early church. They challenge the 'status quo', showcase God's heart, and set the captives free, just as Christ did during His ministry on Earth.

The essence of 5 Fold ministry is that this template is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.

Our blog is a place where we share our personal experiences, struggles, and breakthroughs in our relationship with God. We believe that these stories can help inspire and encourage others who are also on their journey of faith. In this post, we want to delve into the topic of spiritual warfare and how it manifests itself in our daily lives.

Spiritual warfare is a term used to describe the battle between good and evil, where supernatural forces are at play. It may sound like something out of a fantasy novel, but for many people, spiritual warfare is a very real and ongoing struggle.

The concept of spiritual warfare might seem unfamiliar or daunting to some. However, Christians must grasp its significance and impact. Ephesians 6:12 guides us with a powerful message, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."

This scripture eloquently highlights that as believers, we find ourselves in an unseen spiritual conflict. It's a battle that transcends the physical realm, affecting every individual universally.

In addition to sharing our own experiences, we also provide helpful tips and advice on how to deepen your connection with God. From understanding the Bible to cultivating an effective prayer life, we cover a wide range of topics that are essential to growing in your faith.

But our blog is not just about personal growth. We also believe in the power of community and coming together to serve others. That's why we share information about various causes and organizations that align with our beliefs and mission as Christians.

Now, Mary teaches concepts about spiritual breakthroughs from the knowledge she gained in a women's bible study. Mary believes that spiritual breakthroughs are an essential part of one's faith journey. She defines it as a significant shift in one's perspective, understanding, and relationship with God. These breakthroughs can come in various forms, such as realizing a new truth from scripture, experiencing deep emotional healing, or powerfully encountering God. Spiritual breakthroughs are unique to each individual and can happen at any point in their faith journey.

Mary also emphasizes the importance of community in experiencing spiritual breakthroughs. She believes that God created us for relationships, and we need others to help us grow in our faith.

They talk about the need for guidance to keep praying for your marriage. Especially, if you are struggling with demonic attacks, need specific wisdom from the Holy Spirit, or contemplating something much more divisive you need to pray for your marriage.

If you are looking for a breakthrough from God and the direction of the Holy Spirit, then, this is the blog for you.
